Head to Head: Arizona v. Colorado

We match up the state's #2 backs in this video comparison, pitting Brophy's Ray Polk and Mullen's Jonathan Gaye.

I am going to stay with the running back theme and do video comparisons of who I consider to be the #2 backs in Arizona and Colorado. I match up Brophy Prep's Ray Polk and Mullen's Jonathan Gaye. Both have similar builds at 6-0 190 and are very good on the track. Both hold multiple division-one offers. This one should be fun.

Gaye saw varsity action as a freshman and sophomore and more then likely would have been one of the state of Colorado's top performers last year but an injury sidelined him for the vast majority of his junior season. He managed to gain 275 yards and score 4 TDs on just 12 carries. As a sophomore he was the state 100 meter champ turning in a best time of 10.63 that year. Gaye is ranked in Scout.com's top 10 players in CO, ranked in the Midlands top 50 and is currently a 2 star prospect. He holds offers from Air Force, Colorado State, New Mexico State, Wyoming, Illinois and Boise State.

Polk emerged on to the scene last year and turned in a brilliant season posting 1,400 yards and 22 TDs. He was a 1st team all region and all 5A selection. Ray's football accolades actually took a back seat to his performance in track until last year. Polk successfully defended his 110 meter hurdle championship with a best time of 13.79 last year. He was also the 300 meter hurdles champ recording a best time of 37.38 last year. Ray holds offers from Washington, Michigan, Utah, Nebraska, Arizona, Arizona State, Colorado, Colorado State, Oregon State, Nevada and Oklahoma State. Polk is currently a 4-star prospect by Scout.com, ranked in Scout.com's Arizona top 5 and in Scout's Southwest top 100.
