Dante Sellers has played a variety of positions in his time at Deer Valley. He has played linebacker, defensive end and even had a crack at quarterback. At 6-2 210 pounds he seems destined to play outside linebacker and he performed well last year on the defensive side of the ball as he recorded 47 tackles, 8 sacks and 4 recovered fumbles. He is being recruited by most schools as an OLB.

up with Dante to see how the off-season has gone for him and check in on
Scout.com: How have you been training for the season?
Dante: "I have been doing a lot of
cardio and endurance workouts."
What gains have you made in the weight room and on your forty?
"My power clean max is now 275,
bench 300, squat 340. I haven't run my forty yet but the whole team is doing
speed training with Velocity Sports Performance and we will test this week."
What camps did you go to?
"I went to the UTEP camp, ASU and
Any recent offers?
"No, I still only hold one
What schools would you list as your favorites?
"Not in any order, UTEP,
When will you cut down your list or possibly commit?
"I don't plan on a commitment any
time soon, I'm just going to wait until I get a decent amount of offers then I
will have a decision."
Have you set up any trips?
"Not yet, I will visit some places
unofficially though, I just don't have a date yet."
What have you learned over the past year in regards to recruiting?
"It has been different for me, I
don't have 30 offers so it's relaxed and things develop eventually."
What are your goals for the season?
"My goal are to win a state championship, my individual goals are to be first team all state and set personal and school records."
