First and foremost, in this week's edition of Friday Night Phenoms, 24-7Football.com would like to give or best wishes to Ryan Blom from Mt. Pointe and Sean Douglas from Moon Valley for a speedy recovery. They both left the field Friday night with neck injuries. Another former Moon Valley player, Kevin Santesteban, was also taken to the hospital on Saturday with a neck injury while GCC was playing NMMI.
The players and their family will be in our thoughts and prayers. If there is anything we can do for them, do not hesitate to email me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Our biggest Phenom of the week is Gilbert head coach Jesse Parker. Coach Parker got his 300th win on Friday night when his Tigers beat Horizon 21-12.
Mingus' Bob Young got his 100th career win on Thursday when Mingus beat O'Connor on Cox 7.
The biggest performance of the week was the 470 yards rushing and 6 TDs that Lake Havasu's Brent Michaels had against Agua Fria. The Havasu offense broke their school record for yards in a game with 562.
Last week we highlighted several 200 + yard performances and we had more again this week.
Agua Fria's Derrick Ross went for over 350 yards rushing and 4 TDs in that shoot out with Havasu.
Ray Polk went off for 212 yards and 5 TDs in Brophy's win against Mesa.
RB Luckas Scott from Mesquite came up big in their upset of Basha. He went for 214 yards and 2 TDs on 29 carries.
Great night for Westview's Brian Conley. He rushed for 238 yards and 4 TDs on just 11 carries versus Kingman.
Props to the Higley O-line for paving the way for 352 rushing yards.
Marana Mt View's Dan Moore had 178 yards rushing and 68 yards receiving in their win over Salpointe.
La Joya's Jeremiah Cornist keeps making this list week in and wek out. He had 5 TDs and 171 yards on just 11 carries on Friday.
In one of the week's biggest matchups, no one came up bigger than Mike Brown from Cactus. In front of a packed house at Peoria, he rushed for 173 yards and 3 scores.
Great rushing performance from Saguaro QB Tim Ruben. He hit Paradise valley up for 189 yards.
Other QBs that had big nights were David Veal from Marcos and Kevin Yost from Mt. Ridge.
Veal had 3 TD passes and 1 rushing in their win over Westwood. Yost went 16 of 29 for 221 yards and 4 TDs against Tolleson.
Chandler WR Archie Woulard had 2 TD catches and also threw one on Friday night.
Got to give props to the defenses at Prescott and Higley. Prescott held Apollo to -3 yards rushing and Higley held Moon Valley to -8 yards rushing.
Big night for DE Kharyee Marshall from Washington. In the Rams upset of Notre Dame, Marshall came up huge. He had 11 tackles (5 solo), returned a fumble for a score and intercepted a two-point conversion that turned out to be the difference in the Ram's two point win.
Last but not least, not to often that a guy gets 3 picks. Well, River Valley's Brandon Langston did on Friday.
I know I missed some great performances, let's hear about them on the message boards and shoot me an email at email@example.com.
