Sleeper DT Makes College Commitment

Mesa (AZ) Red Mountain defensive tackle Anthony Smith has informed Scout.com that he has committed to play at New Mexico State.

Smith (6-1 220) tells 24-7Football.com, "I just wanted to let you know that I have decided that I will be attending New Mexico State University next year for football, I just got back from my visit and it seems like it would be an excellent fit for me."

He adds, "I got a full scholarship, they flew me out last Friday and I just got back today. Coach Dunn the new defensive coordinator really liked my film. He wants to keep me at nose and play me soon."

Smith is a two-time all region performer taht used tremendous strength and quickness off the ball to wreak havoc in his opponent's backfield.
