New Offer for AZ Back

Peoria (AZ) High School RB Jamal Miles adds another offer

Peoria High School has produced some quality backs in it's tradition rich history. From Keegan Herring, currently at Arizona State, to Tavon Cooper, who signed with Colorado in the mid 90s, the Panthers are always a stop for college recruiters in need of running backs. The next great Peoria back is junior Jamal Miles. Miles has already accomplished some amazing things in his short time and is certain to accomplish more.

Miles burst on to the scene with a great sophomore season rushing for 1122 yards and 16 touchdowns on just 117 carries. He was named 1st team all region for the 9-4 Panthers.

It was no fluke, the success continued. He rushed for 1679 yards and 38 scores while being named 2nd team all region as a junior. He was also vital on defense and special teams, recording 21 tackles and 1 pick as a corner and averaged over 33 yards per kick off return, returning one 96 yards for a score versus Paradise Valley.

College coaches have taken notice, Arizona extended an official offer at the beginning of his junior season and Miles informed Scout.com via email that, "I just got an offer from ASU."

Speed is always in demand and Miles has plenty of it. He claims a best forty of 4.4 and was sensational for Peoria's track team last spring, running best times of 10.8 in the 100, 21.6 in the 200 and 47.7 in the 400. He placed 2nd, 1st and 1st in those events respectively at the 5A2 state track meet last year.

Schools such as Florida, Stanford, UCLA, Penn State, Rice, South Carolina, Wisconsin, Oregon and Texas A&M have all expressed interest in him in track.

So what does Miles want to do in college? "I don't know, I haven't decided yet. I think I might just want to concentrate on football," he told Scout.com in a previous interview.

With his speed and size (5-11 170) some schools have also talked to Miles about playing corner.
