Junior RB Gets First Offer

Scout.com Exclusive News: Avondale (AZ) La Joya RB is first in school history to receive a D1 offer

Avondale (AZ) La Loya is such a new program that it is not even listed in Scout.com's database currently. That will change shortly as a request has been put in because a player from La Joya has become the first player in school history to receive a division-one offer.

La Joya head coach Mieke Waters tells Scout.com that his running back, Jeremiah Cornist has been offered by the Univeristy of Arizona. "Just wanted to let you know that our running back / kick returner
Jeremiah Cornist received a full written offer from Coach Stoops at the University of Arizona on Friday."

Cornist was fantastic last year for Waters. As a running back he carried the ball 196 times for 1605 yards and 20 scores. He was named 1stteam all region for this performance.

Cornist (5-9 160) is special as a returner. He was named 1st team all Arizona (another first for a La Joya player) as a junior when he averaged nearly 30 yards per kick return and took 4 kicks to the house for scores.
