The Sabercats sent three linemen on to the division-one ranks last year but do not think the cupboard is bare. Offensive tackle Kody Koebensky received his first offer tonight; from San Diego State.
He tells 24-7Football.com, "My dad and offensive line coach Himebauch had been exchanging emails and we called him and he said, 'We would like to offer you a full scholarship."
Kody (6-4 280) says he was little surprised by the offer because he had not been in much contact with the SDSU staff. "My dad sent out my game film and they must have liked what they saw."
Some things he says that Himebauch liked about his game, "He liked my wingspan, the way I moved, my tenacity and that I was well coached."
With the offer being so new and it being a bit of a surprise, Kody says he has not had a chance to research the Aztec's program.
Other schools that have been in contact have been Oregon State and Boise State.
"Coach Sanders (Saguaro head coach) has been talking to Oregon State a lot and I have talked to Coach Huff at Boise (offensive line coach)."
Right now Kody says he has no favorite school, "I still need to see what comes."
Check out junior highlights of Kody. He plays left tackle and wears #67:
