Peoria (Az.) Centennial has not had a shortage of talent the last two years, winning back to back state titles. This year the trend continues. Outside linebacker Reggie Umuolo called us to inform us that he has received his first scholarship offer.
He tells us exclusively just moments ago, "Coach Taylor (Centennial head coach) talked to Coach Dickey at Utah and he said he wanted to offer me and I called him and he extended the offer then."
Umuolo was a 2nd team all region linebacker last year, recording 92 tackles and 4 sacks and his hitting ability impressed Coach Dickey. Umuolo says, "Coach says that I am one of the most explosive hitters he has seen and he likes that I have a nose for the football. He says I fit their defense perfectly."
Other schools that have shown interest according to Umuolo are UNLV, NAU, San Diego State and Arizona State but Utah being the first to offer means something to him. "I am really happy to get the first offer and now I don't have to stress but Utah really liked my tape and offered, where other schools liked my tape and wanted me to come to camp. This is something I am going to keep in mind."
Umuolo (5-10 190) says he will camp at San Diego State, where his brother Alston plays TE and will camp at ASU. He says he is considering going to Arizona's one day camp.
Umuolo boasts impressive weight room numbers, including a 370 pound bench, 445 squat and 300 pound power clean.
He reports a 3.0 GPA and scored a 1290 on the three-part SAT.
