Big Day for Chap OT

Chaparral High School offensive tackle Taylor Lewan of Scotsdale, Arizona gains his fourth D1 offer.

While chowing down with his fellow Chaparral offensive linemen, 6-5 270 pound offensive tackle Taylor Lewan received a call from University of Nevada offensive coordinator Chris Klenakis.  Klenakis, citing Lewan's athleticism offered a scholarship for Taylor to play for the Wolfpack.  Food and college offers, it does not get much better for an offensive lineman.

Lewan indicated Nevada and coach Klenakis liked his athleticism as well as the work he has done academically.  Last season, playing at Cactus Shadows, Lewan worked primarily as a defensive lineman.  This season, for Chaparral, Lewan is working at left offensive tackle and looks to have made the move smoothly.  Last week, in an opening week win over Marana, Lewan recorded six pancake blocks.  This week, Lewan and his Chaparral squad take on Cienega.

The offer from Nevada raises Lewan's total to four with Arizona State, Utah State and Minnesota already on board.  Look for his offers to increase as college teams get a look at the ever improving Lewan working at left tackle.
