Desert Ridge v. Desert Mountain

Ridge rallies on Cox 7's Thursday Night Game of the Week


Desert Mountain built a nine point lead early in this game only to see Desert Ridge, led by WR Chris Heldore, score 26 unanswered points and took home the vcitory on Thursday night.

Down 9-0 early in the 1st quarter, Desert Ridge finally got on the board after a DM fumble led to a 23 yard Kevin Pantastico to Heldore touchdown pass. The two-point conversion was no good and it was 9-6.

The Jaguar defense forced a DM punt and a few plays later Pantastico found Heldore again for a 40 yard gain. On the run after catch, Heldore pitched the ball to Brandon Mapalo and he raced in the rest of the way to take their first lead of the game. After the PAT it was 13-9 Desert Ridge, which was also the halftime score.

The DR defense again forced a three and out on DM's first series of the 2nd half and after moving the ball and facing a 4th and 10 play, Pantastico found Chris Jamison fr a 25 yard score to make it 19-9 as the APT was no good.

Desert Mountain forced sevral turnovers in the 3rd period but was never able to capitalize. The teams exchanged scores in the 4th quarter, DR scored on a QB sneak that was set up by a 67 yard Heldore catch. DM scored late in the 4th after QB Kevin Radcliffe hooked up with sevral different receivers befre punching it in from 10 yards put.

It was not the prettiest game for either team as they both committed several turnovers. DM's Jordan Fox had a nice night but Heldore was a man amongst boys tonight.

Chris Heldore at one point had 6 catches for 170 yards and a score. he also made the game seeling interception of Radcliffe.
