Not much has been said thus far for the recruiting down at Sabino High School. They are traditionally a talent rich program that has produced some of Southern Arizona's best players.
But just because nothing has been said about their players doesn't mean nothing is going on down in Tucson. Scout.com caught up with Sabino head coach Jay Campos and he informed us that he has three players receiving quite a bit of college interest.
According to Campos, all-purpose player Scotty Brown currently holds offers from Army and Air Force. The 6-1 205 pounder rushed for 496 yards and 10 touchdowns on just 71 carries for the Sabercats. He also caught 10 passes for 301 yards and 6 more scores. Campos adds that he will be taking an official visit to NAU on January 16th but has not been offered by the Lumberjacks yet.
Coach Campos also has a pair of offensive tackles holding offers. He tells us big Kyle Walker (6-4 265) has offers from Northern Colorado and Northern Arizona.
The other bookend tackle, Stuart Tawney (6-4 250), has been offered by division-two Fort Hays State and has a trip set up with NAU on January 16th but they have not offered yet.
Campos says to keep an eye on 2010 player Keanu Nelson (5-11 165). He tallied 1,000 all-purpose yards and scored 10 TDs. Campos says, "He is the best all-around athlete we have had at Sabino this decade."
