Air Force must really love the talent in Arizona. The Falcons have made it a point make the Grand Canyon State one of their main recruiting targets. Last year they signed several players including Brent Michaels, Drew Swartz and Roland Pierce. They have already targeted several players in the 2010 class and the newest is TE Ben DeMarr from Mountain Pointe.
DeMarr (6-4 215) gives us the details on his first offer, "I was in chemistry class and our athletic director walks in with the Air Force receivers coach. We went to the office and started discussing the academy and he asked me if Air Force was someplace I would consider. I said yes and he broke the news that they really want me."
His reaction, "It being my first offer, it gave me a boost of confidence and made my day. I wasn't going to tell anybody about the offer because I am not the bragging type, I am pretty humble, but when my coach broke the news to the team and they were cheering, it felt so good to have teammates that care about me. I can't wait to go to battle with my new family for the up and coming months. We are going to exceed everyone's expectations and turn heads."
Mt. Pointe will go to battle with new head coach Norris Vaughn and DeMarr likes what vaughn is doing, "None of this would have been possible if it wasn't for Coach, I appreciate everything he does for us."
DeMarr was named 2nd team all region as a junior after catching 28 passes for 314 yards and 1 TD.
