First Offers from the Pac 10

Avondale (Az.) Westview CB/QB Jourdan Grandon gets offer number seven and eight, both hail from Pac 10 schools.

Avondale (Az.) Westview CB/QB Jourdan Grandon was already a well known prospect prior to today, holding six offers. But today recruiting took a big step up for Grandon as he received two new offers, both coming from the Pac 10.

Grandon told us this morning, "Washington just offered. Coach Cozzetto called me this morning and told me my offer letter will be coming in the mail soon. He also said they want me to stay in touch."

Grandon then made an unofficial visit to Arizona State and walked away with an offer. He says, "I went to ASU's campus today and met with all of the coaches. Coach Bray offered me a scholarship and took me on a tour of the campus and the weightroom. The campus is really nice. I felt like I was out of Arizona, like it's its own little town."

He had this to say about the staff, "The ASU coaching staff seemed really cool. They were excited about having me there."

Grandon also has offers from New Mexico, Colorado State, Boise State, Colorado, San Diego State and Portland State.

Grandon (5-11 185) was a standout on both sides of the all in 2008, earning all-region accolades as a QB after accounting for 2,200 yards of offense and 19 TDs. From his corner spot he made 38 tackles and 4 picks helping the Knights reach the 5A2 state title game. Most schools are recruiting him as a defensive back.

Grandon carries a 2.8 GPA and will be taking the SAT next month.
