Bonnie Bryce. "Bustin Out" Player of the Week!

As a freshman, she led Pima in scoring, rebounding, and steals and she has done the same every year since.  What has set Bonnie apart, though, is her incredible work ethic and desire to improve.  Many talented athletes over the years have had the desire, but none can match her fire.  Since that freshmen year, Bonnie has gone from being the best defensive player, to Pima's top offensive player, and now in her senior year with her 15.7 points, 13.8 rebounds and 7.4 steals per game, she has taken it upon herself to become a "DimeDropper" as well - already totaling 101 assists in 23 games.  Humility is an after-thought for Bonnie as she has never approached the game with even the slightest thought that she got game.  In the final weeks of what has been four years under the same coach, she does even the most tedious drills as if she were an elementary kid at basketball camp.  She has recieved every possible award or honor and yet she labors as if she has never experienced success.  It it no surprise that Bonnie is Pima's Student Body President, Valedictorian, NHS member, etc. etc..

On the court this season, Bonnie has been phenomenal.  In 23 games, she has 22 double-doubles, and has compiled 4 triple-doubles.  Three of those included steals, but one was a more "typical" triple-double in which she had 14 points, 20 rebounds, 10 assists, and 7 steals in a 65-42 win versus rival and 2002 championship opponent Ft Thomas.  Bonnie is in the process of a historic season that is on pace to see her finish among the top 5 ever in season rebounds and in the top 3 ever in season steals.  Using Arizona's Super Prep Record Book as a source, Bonnie is on pace to finish her career as the only female in Arizona history with 1200 points, 1200 rebounds and 500 steals.   In Pima's most recent game, Bonnie recorded her fourth triple-double of the season in a 1A East Region Championship clinching win versus Cibecue with 22 points, 18 rebounds, and 12 steals - earning that week's Arizona Republic Top Performer!

Congratulations Bonnie Bryce, and tell Clyde I said Hi! :)
