The offers are finally starting to roll in for 6-6 255 pound OT Tyler Johnstone from Chandler (Az.) Hamilton.
Johnstone was offered by Colorado last month and just last night San Diego State extended their offer. Today Johnstone tells Scout.com that the University of New Mexico has become the third school to offer.
Johnstone says, "I talked to Coach Blackshear about two weeks ago and he said I was a heck of an athlete and he's watched all of my film and he thinks I have a ton of upside. But I hadn't heard from him since then and I received the offer in the mail today."
Johnstone has some familiarity with the Lobo program, having lived in Albuquerque when he was younger.
"I have been to two of their games," he says. "I lived right near Albuquerque for three years. The university separated my house from downtown. I lived there when I was 9 til I was 12 and moved to Arizona in seventh grade."
Johnstone was named honorable mention all region last year for the Huskies helping them win the 5A1 state title.
