In the span of roughly six weeks, Chandler Hamilton's Tyler Johnstone has gone from zero offers to fourteen.
The 6-6 250 pound offensive tackle has had a busy two days as he has received four new offers.
Last night he reported to Scout.com that he was offered by TCU, UNLV and New Mexico State. Today he informed that the defending WAC champions have extended a scholarship offer.
In a simple text message he says, "Boise State offered."
Johnstone was then contacted and we had a chance to chat with him about the Bronco offer, "I have been talking to Coach Huff and he said he liked me a lot and they wanted to start building a relationship with me. Then he had me call Coach Peterson today and he said it was a no brainer to offer me."
As we mentioned earlier, Johnstone has become one of the hottest OL prospects in the West, receiving several Pac 10 offers. The thought of playing in the Pac 10 is appealing to Johnstone but is not going to be the deciding factor. He comments, "It doesn't matter that they are in the WAC. Boise is an incredible program and they beat the Pac 10 champions last year and won the Fiesta Bowl. I am absolutley interested in them."
Tyler was named honorable mention all-region as a junior at OT and was a 1st team all-region long snapper. He helped Hamilton win the 5A1 state title.
