Prospects will be placed through several football oriented drills that will help the combine staff assess their football knowledge, skill level, and physical ability. Combine instructors will rate each prospect after the drill session is completed. At the conclusion of the combine, the committee will evaluate each prospect's position skill results to determine their final rating.
Some of the Golden State's top prospects have already committed to play in the Cal State Game that will be played Dec. 23, 2011 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Clovis, California. The event consists of the Five-Star Game, Rising Stars Game, and the Underclassmen Showcase Camp, which coincides with the practices leading up to the game. Over 160 roster spots remain for the games as well as over 190 spots need to be filled for the Underclassmen Showcase.
The Cal State Game Selection Tour gives prospects optimum exposure to be selected to play in the all-star game.
The tour will conduct more camps throughout the Golden State and culminating with the invite only Five-Star Camp in Ventura, California on July 22 and 23. The goal is assess the top talent to determine what seniors will play in the Cal State Game and what freshmen, sophomores, and juniors will compete in the Underclassmen Showcase.
