Several kicking, punting, and long snapping prospects traveled to Denton, TX last weekend for Kornblue Kicking's Dallas Fab 50 Camp. Outstanding leg strength was the theme of the day as a Fab 50 Camp record was broken and every participant made field goals of at least 50 yards.

Kicker/punter Lumi Kaba (Robert E. Lee HS, TX - 2013) set a Fab 50 Camp record by crushing a 64 yard FG to win the camp's FG competition. He drilled FG's from 64, 62, 60, 55, 50 and overall, charted 9/10 inside of 64 yards with the lone miss coming from 62. His last 3 kickoffs charted: 70/4.0, 70/3.7, 72/3.9 with a 10 mph tailwind. Kaba also showed well as a punter with his best punt traveling 48 yards with 4.5 hangtime into the wind.

Kicker Joseph Pickett (Temple HS, TX – 2012) showed the longest kickoff distances, sending one 78 yards with 3.6 hangtime. He also made a 60 yard FG during competition. Seth Hiddink charted two kickoffs over 72 yards and was 5/5 on FG's inside of 50 yards. Other notable performers were long snapper Kaleb Smith (All Saints HS, TX - 2013), kicker Josh Lambert (Garland HS, TX – 2012), kicker/punter Josh King (Guyer HS, TX – 2012), kicker Israel DePlaza (Colleyville Heritage HS, TX – 2012), kicker Brandon Cottrell (Whitehouse HS, TX – 2012), and kicker Cody Wicker (Jesuit HS, TX – 2013).

Participants received instruction from Kornblue Kicking owner Brandon Kornblue and guest coach Will Atterberry. Atterberry, the starting punter at North Texas the past three seasons, helped his team knock off Indiana the previous night.

The next Texas event is scheduled for October 23, 2011 at the University of Houston and the national combine event, the Fall 2011 Kicking Challenge, will be held December 17 in Miami, FL.
