"Fresno State flipped the table on me," said Warren. "The running back coach said he would take me as a walk-on."
The undersized Warren was one of the top rushers in the Golden State in 2011 notching over 2,500 yards and 30 touchdowns on the ground. But despite his accolades on offense, the Bulldogs were recruiting him as an athlete.
Under new head coach Tim DeRuyter, Fresno State will running a new scheme on offense and defense, and Warren just happened to be victim of the transition. Nonetheless, he has found a home.
"I visited Sac State [last weekend]," said Warren. "I committed tonight."
He says he enjoyed his visit to the Big Sky program. He received his offer during his visit and decided on Wednesday to make his decision.
San Diego State had also showed interest in Warren as well. While he remains committed to the Hornets, Warren said he might consider a FBS offer – if one comes his way before signing day.
