Three Advance to Best of the West

SANTA CLARITA, CA -- Team SavvOut edged Team Pride N Skills in overtime to win the Passing Down Elite 7-on-7 Challenge on Saturday afternoon...

Team Pride N Skills easily had the most athletes on the field, but Team TU Squad is the team that dominated pool play with a 4-0 record. They won each game by at least two touchdowns, including a 26-0 thrashing over Pride N Skills.

But Pride N Skills rebounded and knocked out TU Squad in the semifinals en route to a second place finish after falling to Team SavvOut in overtime of the championship game.

TU Squad beat Team SLO in the consolation game earning the third automatic invite to the Passing Down Best of the West finals.

Comprised of mostly Frontier High School players, SavvOut, led by 2014 quarterback prospect Evan Moore, continued the Bakersfield domination of Passing Down 7-on-7 events following Team Bakersfield Burr's BOTW championship last year.

Passing Down will hold two more regional tournaments on April 22 in Sacramento and May 6 in Laguna Hills to determine the remaining finalists for the BOTW tournament on Memorial Day weekend in Santa Maria.
