SoCal QB Earning Praise

Pasadena (Calif.) quarterback Brandon Cox is technically labeled a dual-threat quarterback. However, his technique and ability to throw the ball have earned him high praise as a successful passer…

Breaking down Brandon Cox, the tape shows a quick player that has effective feet not just on the run, but in the pocket as well. He has a good arm and his throwing mechanics from his quick drop back and throwing motion are exceptional.

"As of right now, my recruitment is going well," Cox said. "I've been talking to basically all of the Pac-12 teams besides USC. Add in Vanderbilt, Maryland, Iowa State, Duke, Virginia and Notre Dame as well."

That's a pretty impressive list for the signal-caller. He already has ideas for a visit and camps which he will attend.

"On the 19th, I'll be going up to Oregon for a visit and to go to one of their camps," said Cox. "So I'm pretty excited for that."

While he will take the trip north, Cox hasn't fully broken down his interests. "I do have schools in mind that I like better than others, but I wouldn't say I have a serious top teams list as of yet."

He is unsure of where he will play his college career, but he did have a favorite team growing up that has shown some interest in him.

"I've been a USC fan since I can remember basically, but as I've gotten older and started understanding the game of football, I would say Oregon kind of took over that spot."

Oregon is one of his top schools of choice, along with Arizona that will be joined by other schools as time goes on. Cox has offers from Iowa State, Maryland, Arizona, Utah State and New Mexico State right now, but he has not sent a timeline on his recruitment.

"I'm going off of feeling really. Whenever I find that right school and it feels right to me and my family, I will commit."

Watch out for Brandon Cox who could be making waves his senior season.
