Mitchell Shifty Threat for Trojans

Steven Mitchell, the 5'11", 170-pound wide receiver out of Bishop Alemany High School in Mission Hills (Calif.) has made a verbal commitment to USC and GSP breaks down what it means for the Trojans…

Watching the tape on Steven Mitchell, it's very easy to get impressed by the qualities and abilities that he possesses. There are traits in his game that often go overlooked as a wide receiver recruit.

Not only is he shifty and a threat with the ball after the catch, Mitchell is extremely talented with his route running prowess. He uses his head superbly when faking his routes one direction and his breaks are incredible.

Mitchell is happy with where he is right now in his recruitment process.

"Everything has been going a lot smoother and a lot of pressure has been lifted off my shoulders since I committed," Mitchell said.

"I have become a recruiter of some sort to try and help USC recruit the best of the best," Mitchell said of what he is doing now.

When asked what USC felt about him, Mitchell continued, "They said I have a very bright future ahead of me and they allow all of their players to get a fighting chance."

So, what made Mitchell pick USC as his college of choice?

"They have been my dream school ever since I was a little kid. I used to have season tickets there for about three years," Mitchell said. "And of course they have great academics that was another plus."

For Mitchell, coming into a team that will still have some top wide receivers and in a class full of top players at their respective positions, getting the chance to succeed will be all about hard work and competition. Mitchell is ready for that.
