Explosive Addition

Santa Monica (Calif.) wide receiver Sebastian Larue earned an offer from USC just a few weeks ago and now he's taken that opportunity and verbally committed to become a Trojan after his senior season in high school…

The most notable attribute of the 5-foot-11, 180-pound Sebastian LaRue has to be his explosiveness. The versatile athlete who has the ability to play wide receiver or cornerback and return kicks is a threat every time he gets the ball in his hands. His speed helps his breaks and he is physically top-notch in terms of his development and conditioning.

While he certainly isn't the biggest player, he gets great separation off of the line of scrimmage with his speed and hand work. He's elusive and works hard to get his yardage.

He's also focused on his education, which is one of the reasons he verbally committed to USC fresh off of an unofficial visit to Washington State.

"The Washington State trip was just me weighing my options out," Larue said. USC just has more to offer me at this point, education wise and athletically. Also, the chance to follow in the footsteps of Marqise Lee and Robert Woods, playing for the great USC fans is a great opportunity that I couldn't pass up."

What did USC think about Larue's ability on the field?

"They told me I'm explosive."

That alone should give fans a great indication of what to expect when Larue steps on the field. His speed and ability to break away at any given time fits right in with what the Trojans are currently capable of; Larue just provides that for the future as well.
