Closer Look at Thompson

Valencia (Calif.) High School will feature a two-way star on their team in athlete Tedric Thompson who performed well at both wide receiver and defensive back for the Vikings last season…

As a junior last season, the 6-foot-1, 205-pound athlete brought in 42 catches for 431 yards and two touchdowns. On the defensive side of the ball, Tedric Thompson made 43 tackles to go with two pass deflections.

He was dominant across the middle of the field on defense and breaks on the ball well. His instincts and ability to play the ball is tremendous as he does anything he can to force a fumble or break up a pass to help his team out.

On offense, he has a good ability to get off the line and works hard to get separation right away. His hands work to get himself off the defender and he catches the ball well away from his body.

Being a two-way player is going to help Thompson in his recruitment and he already boasts offers from Colorado and Minnesota. Should he decide to go to Minnesota, he will play with his brother Cedric Thompson for the Golden Gophers.

Be on the lookout for Thompson this year as he as all the ability to star on both sides of the ball and make an impact for the Vikings.
