With Week Four in the books, we take a look at the projections for the CIF State Bowl Championship games in December.
With Santa Margarita losing Johnny Stanton, we're not expecting the Eagles to win the Pac-5, let alone advance to the state regional game, since Stanton was the heart and soul of that team. At the same time, should Mater Dei beat Narbonne this week, they'll make a compelling case for being the Pac-5 favorite. However, a win by Narbonne will pretty much ensure an unbeaten season the rest of the way, since they're head and shoulders above the rest of the City Section. They would likely not get the Open Division nod, we still expect a Pac-5/Inland matchup there, but that might work to Narbonne's advantage, as they'd likely get a Central or San Diego Section school in the regional game.
