A look at the USA Football Combine this past weekend...

Last weekend USA Combine ( did Back to back Combines. On Saturday at Citrus Valley HS some of the standouts were Citrus Valley sophomore Sua Moi, a 6-foot-2, 320-pound offensive lineman, was among the participants. "This is giving me the opportunity to see where I stand right now," Moi said. The combine provided drills that tested speed and agility. But it also provided position training. "They can begin to see what their numbers are and they can see what they can improve on," said Rod Gatlin, a co-founder of the combine. "They get to see how they compare to other kids and they gain valuable competition."

For Spencer Coleman the AB Miller 15-year-old is on the tail end of his freshman year in high school. In the fall he impressed with every outing during the football season and worked his way from the freshman team all the way up to Friday night football with the varsity. Attending the combine made perfect sense for Spencer Coleman "Right now I feel I'm doing good," Coleman said. "I feel confident about being here." Coleman stood out at a football program that struggled. He rushed for 1,200 yards and scored three touchdowns for the junior varsity team and was named the JV Offensive Player of the Year. He played free safety and tailback when with the varsity squad.

On Sunday USA Combine was held at Fullerton College and Players from San Diego to Northern California participated. At Quarterback Anaheim Servite 6'4 195lb Sophmore Travis Waller participated and really looked Sharp and has improved his overall game this Spring. Waller who was 2nd Team all Trinity League last Season just came back from an Elite 11 Camp Friday and skipped his Track and Field Banquet to attend Sundays USA Combine. " Travis has tremendous Character I have never been around such an amazing Kid he will be on everyones Recruiting Board mentioned Gatlin". Also at Quarterback was rising Junior Grant Kraemer who will take over controls at Sherman Oaks Norte Dame. Kraemer impressed everyone with his athleticism he ran the fastest time in the 3 Cone Drill and really looked smooth throwing the Football and had sound mechanics. Kraemer is starting to see some Recruiting interest and will be a Sleeper Next Season.

Other Players who stood out over the weekend were Junior WR Will Harvey from Golden Valley HS in Santa Clarita. Harvey had an excellent overall day both Testing and also Catching the Football. Look for Freshman WR Brenan Corbin Cypress HS to jump on the seen next season. Already 6'2, Corbin impressed with his route running and made several Big plays during 7 on 7 Competitions. Citrus Valley multi Athlete Elijah Nickerson ran the fastest 40 yard dash over the weekend at 4.61 and his teammate Shilon Hurl had the most reps in the Bench press at 22. USA Combine will be at Sultana HS (Hesperia) June 21-23.
