Long Snappers are in Los Angeles from TX, NC, OK, AZ, CA, MS, AR, KS, OH, IL, WA, GA, MN, WI and VA to compete against one another and learn from the best. The second session of camp was meant to separate the men from the boys. A ton of live and competitive snaps were watched and also a good amount of athleticism was judged. The nerves were gone today and all of the Long Snappers were nice and loose. Some stepped up and some get stepped on.
The most dominant Long Snappers today were Blake Ferguson, Tanner Carew, Alan Lucy, Wyatt Smith, Liam McCullough, Wyatt Pfeifer, Davis Winkie, Casey Wilson and Joel Baldwin. These snappers showed not only great snapping poise and speed but also athleticism and blocking. They were the whole package if you will. Rankings will definitely be jumbled around after this weekend.
After the camp, the TOP 12ers had their annual belly flop contest followed by a trip to Universal City Walk. Bonding was in full effect and this is definitely a weekend the guys will never forget. Friendships are being made and memories are being created.
Tomorrow, the camp will focus on pressure snaps, filming and competition. It will be interesting to see who can maintain the high standards for the full three days. For continuous updates, be sure to follow Rubio Long Snapping on Twitter and Facebook.
