With the high school football playoffs mostly in championship game action, and some sections already completed, we make projections for the CIF State Bowl Championship games in December on the 20th and 21st at the StubHub Center in Carson.
With Mission Hills winning the San Diego Section Open Division title, we can see a scenario (though it may be somewhat unlikely), where the Grizzlies get the Open Division nod opposite the Pac-5 winner, assuming it's St. John Bosco, if only to reward them for their schedule, though it's more likely the Grizzlies will play the Inland Division champion in the D-I finals. That would keep the Serra-St. John Bosco game intact for the SoCal Regional in the Open Division.
Same with in Northern California, we could see a scenario where San Mateo Serra, assuming they win the CCS title, gets the Open Division nod (and a rematch with De La Salle), to reward their schedule. Otherwise, another Folsom-De La Salle NorCal Regional Open Division matchup.
