NFTC: White Could Be Close to First

HAYWARD, Calif. -- Javin White talks a potential first offer and a laundry list of suitors who have come by to check him out this spring.

HAYWARD, Calif. -- Wide receiver Javin White may not have blown up quite yet – he has yet to receive his first offer – but the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder is certainly blow-up-adjacent.

One of the longer and more acrobatic receivers at the recent NFTC event at Chabot College, White has been on a tear in track and field, leaping 6 feet, 5 inches and notching a 15.1-second 110-meter hurdles time. At the NFTC, White tested at 35 inches in the vertical leap.

New Mexico State, San Diego State, UCLA, San Jose State and Utah have all come by Fairfield (Calif.) Vanden to watch White during spring ball, and, he says, "more and more schools are coming."

One of those schools will be California, which has started showing more interest.

"KP (Kevin Parker, Director of Player Development) did talk to me. He said, ‘We really do like you,'" White said. "They're going to come see me this summer."

Summer will be big for White, who could be scoring that first offer very soon.

"New Mexico State is supposed to offer at the end of this month, the OC of Utah saw me, and San Diego State has been at our last three track meets," White said.
