CalHiSports.com is Back

The CalHiSports.com web site will be operating in full force during the 2001-2002 school year. As usual, weekly state rankings for football, boys basketball and baseball will be released on Monday evenings. Girls basketball and softball rankings will be released on Tuesdays when those sports are in season. Our weekly state athlete of the week feature, for both boys and girls, will be compiled by Tuesdays.

State stat leaders and weekly state stat stars also will be part of our weekly on-line package.

In the coming weeks, look for us to publish the sixth edition of the Cal-Hi Sports Record Book and Almanac. This is as official a state record book for California as you'll get but it includes much more than records. In fact, some consider the Cal-Hi Sports Record Book and Almanac the best state record book in the nation. And for the first time, many of the all-time state lists will be available on-line with special updates as they happen.

Some of the weekly features on-line eventually will be accessed only through a premium subscription service. Support all that we do and all that we've done on behalf of California high school sports by subscribing to the premium service. It's only pennies per day.

In addition to the web site, we will continue to publish the Cal-Hi Sports newsletters every week for those who'd rather see everything in hard-copy form or for those who are not yet on the internet. Call 1-800-660-1334 for subscription information.

Those of you in Southern California also are encouraged to watch our monthly magazine show on FOX SPORTS NET 2. Hosted by Jim Watson, "Inside Cal-Hi Sports" has won three consecutive Los Angeles area Emmy Awards. Check your local listings for exact broadcast times.

We welcome all comments and input on all of the rankings packages and all-state teams that we compile. Unless you have a specific question, we abide by the rule to always let the readers have the last word.

Thanks to all of our longtime subscribers for your encouragement andsupport over the years. What started out as a modest weekly newsletter has become a method for us to earn a living doing what we love to do.

Good luck to all for the coming fall season.
