Elk Grove (Calif.) Cosumnes Oaks safety Hunter Lunsford (6-1, 195) has a couple of offers, but more schools came by during the spring.

Washington State came in a couple of times and they got to see me and UCLA also did,” said Lunsford. “I talk with Angus McClure all the time on Twitter.”

Lunsford and McClure have a connection too, with Lunsford’s father, Gary, a former teammate of McClure’s at Sacramento State.

“UCLA is my dream school,” said Lunsford. “I’m going to their Elite Camp this month.”

Air Force and Navy have offered Lunsford, and Washington State and UNLV have also been talking often with Lunsford.

Cal Poly and Sacramento State, his father’s alma mater, are also close to offering Lunsford and he may camp with both this summer.

Lunsford is planning to attend a number of camps this summer.

“There are a lot of camps that I’m looking at and we’ll go through them and get to as many as I can,” said Lunsford.

Lunsford said he’s hopeful more offers come in through summer or in the fall, so he’s in no rush to make a decision.

“I’ll wait until after my senior year and look then and see where I’ll visit,” said Lunsford. “Air Force is recruiting me the hardest right now thought.” Academically, Lunsford has a 3.7 and scored a 28 on the ACT.
