Game Film: Ben Kone Commits to Oregon State

LAS VEGAS -- Ben Kone committed to Oregon State on Aug. 11, and we've got comprehensive film of the three-star power forward from the Las Vegas Classic, plus an evaluation.

Player: Ben Kone
Rating: 2016 3-star PF
High School Team: San Jose (Calif.) Archbishop Mitty
AAU Team: Oakland Soldiers
Vitals: 6-foot-9, 240 pounds
Recruiting: Committed to Oregon State on Aug. 11, 2015

Evaluation: Kone is a hard-nosed rebounder with a mean streak. He’s physically mature, very powerful and plays with an edge. He has a developing mid-range game, but he’s at his best on the low block. Kone is a tenacious defender with a high motor who will clean up on the glass at the next level. His high motor can get him in trouble at times, and he can tend to play a bit wild, but when he plays under control, he can make things happen. He’s athletic enough to initiate fast breaks off the defensive boards, and runs the floor well for a player his size.
