All-Time State Records

All of the football records are currently posted on the site and are updated as much as possible. To access them, you must be a regular total access subscriber. The boys and girls basketball state record lists will be posted in November and also will be given the total access label. It is our aim to eventually include all of our state record lists in all sports as part of the web site and to keep these record lists as updated as possible at all times.

Scores/Results vs. Analysis/Commentary

We do not provide game-by-game scores or statistics from specific schools. There are plenty of other sources on the web for that information. The difference for this site is that between Cal-Hi Sports founder Nelson Tennis and Cal-Hi Sports editor Mark Tennis (Nelson's nephew), we bring more than 50 years of combined experience in compiling rankings, all-state teams and state records. We aim to include our expertise in every feature we post on this site.

Seasonal vs. Yearly Subscriptions

If you follow a particular school or many schools from a particular region throughout the school year in the major sports, then the one-year subscription is the best value. But we realize many people are only interested in a particular sport. Football tends to get covered year-round due to recruiting and Nike camps in the spring. Boys and girls basketball as well as baseball and softball are more seasonal in our coverage approach. If you are only interested in one of those four sports, a seasonal subscription (6 months) or even going monthly for three or four months would make the most sense for you. Boys basketball and football also are specialties of other sites within the insiders.com network. While this site might not have as much football in the spring or boys hoops in September, you can be sure that other insiders.com sites are doing stories during those times of the year.

Newsletter Subscriptions

Much of the content on this site (but not all) is gathered up and converted to a newsletter format on Wednesdays. It is a newsletter that is mailed, first-class postage and is received normally the next day in Southern California and Friday/Saturday in Northern California. A subscription to this web site is cheaper and gets you more information, but we realize there are still people who've collected our newsletters for many years and still others who don't have a computer. For newsletter subscription information, contact Jan Stayberg of Student Sports at 1-800-660-1334, ext. 4431.

Cal-Hi Sports & Student Sports

This site is an affiliate of Student Sports, both the magazine and the StudentSports.com web site. We are part of the same company and Mark Tennis is the executive editor for the company and its editorial operations. A total access subscription to CalHiSports.com also will enable you to receive all of the total access information on StudentSports.com as well as any total access stories on any other web site within the Insiders.com network.

Insiders.com

This network is run out of offices in Seattle, Washington, and it is the publishers of the entire network who control how a lot of the site looks and works. Issues such as the addition of pop-up ads are under the control of Insiders.com and are not something CalHiSports.com can control.

Message Boards

We routinely monitor all of the boards, but we don't do it daily and encourage anyone who sees obscenity or inappropriate personal attacks to contact us immedately so any such posts can be immediately deleted. Contact Mark Tennis at (209) 463-9050 or email mark@studentsports.com.

There are premium message boards within the insiders.com model for subscribers only. At some point, we may start posting some content on those boards that would be available only to subscribers, but that is not the case at the present time. Potential subscribers do need to know, however, that when the Nike Football Training Camps (produced by Student Sports) start up again in the spring that results from those camps are only posted on the studentsports.com premium messageboards. If you order a total access subscription through one of the other insiders.com sites (not this one or studentsports.com), you will not get access to our premium message boards.
