STATE STAT STANDOUTS OF THE WEEK

 

Rushing Yards

335 - Stephen Bradley, Berean Christian (Walnut Creek) vs. St. Lawrence Academy (Santa Clara). Carried the ball only 18 times and had five TDs in 64-0 win.

314 - Jerrone Garrett, San Joaquin Memorial (Fresno) vs. Selma on 27 carries. Sophomore also scored three TDs in 44-0 victory.

314 - Nathan Ray, West Valley (Cottonwood) vs. Anderson in 54-36 win. Ray carried 34 times and scored four TDs.

288 - Glenn Ohaeri, Aquinas (San Bernardino) vs. Malibu. Rushed 28 times and scored five TDs in 69-6 win. Also had an interception.

277 - Gabriel Camacho, Trona vs. Boron in 28-0 league victory. Carried 25 times and had one TD.

277 - Christian Hernandez, Santa Maria vs. Agoura. Carried 19 times and had two TDs in 51-37 win.

275 - Donnell Johnson, Western (Anaheim) vs. Magnolia (Anaheim. Also scored four TDs in 42-18 victory.

274 - Tim Brown, Franklin (Stockton) vs. Lodi.  Also scored four TDs on runs of 41, 15, 36 and 55 yards in 56-0 rout of Lodi.

265 - Kejuan Bullard, Jordan (Los Angeles) vs. Garfield (Los Angeles). Carried 37 times and scored four TDs.  Bullard scored with less than two minutes remaining to help erase a 27-12 fourth quarter deficit as Jordan won, 32-27.

257 - Tovia Sala, Bell Gardens vs. Mark Keppel (Alhambra) on 19 carries. Also scored five TDs on runs of 45, 4, 36, 1 and 6 yards in 56-6 crushing.

255 - Anthony Dixon, Grant (North Hollywood) vs. North Hollywood. The sophomore also scored three TD to help Grant win, 46-21.

256 - Bryan Peters, Capistrano Valley (Mission Viejo) vs. El Toro. Scored once, but it wasn't enough as Capo Valley lost, 30-12.

255 - Zeke Staples, Warren (Downey) vs. Gahr (Cerritos). Also scored six TDs in 40-26 win over Gahr.

252 - Anthony Dickson, Grant (Van Nuys) vs. North Hollywood. Ran for four scores on 25 carries in 46-21 victory.

249 - Justin Ewers, St. Patrick (Vallejo) vs. St. Mary's (Berkeley). Carried 37 times and had three TDs in 34-42 loss.

245 - Jovontae Turner, Merced vs. Downey (Modesto) on 17 carries. Scored four TDs on runs of 28, 1, 37 and 47 yards. Turner rushed for 160 yards in the third quarter as Merced won, 48-14.

241 - Mike Adams, Duarte vs. Azusa.  The senior carried the ball 24 times. Also had three TDs on runs of 74, 21 and 13 yards in 40-17 win.

239 - Terrell Jackson, Centennial (Corona) vs. La Sierra (Riverside) on only 14 carries. Had three TDs to help Centennial pound La Sierra, 56-6.

239 - Durrell Moss, Orange vs. El Modena (Orange). Junior had another big game and scored twice, but Orange was crushed, 56-12.

237 - Ramiro Chavez, Saddleback (Santa Ana) vs. Santa Ana in 28-10 victory.  Carried 30 times and scored four TDs.

237 - Charles Burnley, Valencia vs. Burroughs (Burbank). Carried 25 times and had one TD in 21-9 win.

234 - Lawrence Hollis, Murphy (Los Angeles) vs. Cantwell Sacred Heart (Montebello). Carried 17 times and scored on TD runs of 88 and 10 yards. Murphy won, 40-30.

233 - Mychal Williams, Quartz Hill vs. Palmdale. Also scored four times but Quartz Hill lost, 31-29.

232 - Daniel Nembhard, Pasadena vs. Hoover (Glendale). Also scored five times in 42-20 win.

231 - Roger Moppen, Washington (Fremont) vs. California (San Ramon) in 36-28 win.  Also rushed for two TDs and two 2-point conversions.

231 - Jonathon Contos, Westlake (Westlake Village) vs. Newbury Park. Also scored two TDs, from 85 and 76 yards, in 42-21 triumph.

226 - Kes Ekpre-Olomu, Chino vs. Walnut on 15 carries. Also had one TD in 38-21 win.

224 - Robert Nembhard, Pasadena vs. Hoover (Glendale). Also scored five TDs on 18 carries. Nembhard started the game at quarterback and scored on the first play from scrimmage for Pasadena and kicked the PAT. Pasadena won, 42-20

222 - Kyle Killingsworth, Ferndale vs. South Fork. Carried 23 times and scored four TDs in 27-0 win.

 

Passing Yards

419 - Evan Bridewell, Piner (Santa Rosa) vs. Rancho Cotate (Rohnert Park). Also threw five TDs but Piner lost 55-34. 

411 - Justin Dion, Desert (Edwards AFB) vs. Rosamond. Completed 18-of-24 passes and had six TDs in thrilling 67-40 triumph.

380 - Alan Norman, San Jacinto vs. Twentynine Palms.  Threw four TDs and connected on 19-of-29 passes with no interceptions in 37-21 victory.

347 - Cary Dove, Taft (Woodland Hills) vs. El Camino Real. Completed 29-of-42 attempts and had five TD passes in 42-14 win

344 - Terry Mermer, Calvary Chapel (Santa Ana) vs. Whittier Christian (La Habra) in 33-18 win.  Mermer connected on 18-of-25 passes and had two TDs.

337 - Reuben Nevarez, San Fernando vs. Kennedy (Granada Hills). Completed 20 of 30 passes and had two TDs, but Kennedy won, 28-26.

335 - Markell Gallow, Sacramento vs. Jesuit (Carmichael).  Connected on 23-of-44 passes. Also threw for four TDs in 49-28 loss.

318 - Matt Moore, Hart (Newhall) vs. Canyon (Canyon Country). Moore completed 28 of 38 passes, including 12-for-12 in the second quarter, and had four TDs in Hart's 33-0 win.

300 - Ryan Stone, Upland vs. Claremont.  Threw for four TDs and completed 12-of-23 passes as Upland won, 42-27.

299 - Scott Jensen, Birmingham (Van Nuys) vs. Chatsworth.  Completed 17-of-24 passes and threw four TD passes.  Birmingham rallied from behind to win, 28-23.

298 - Matt Engle, El Segundo vs. Morningside (Inglewood).  Tossed four TD passes and connected on 19-of-32 passes in 36-8 victory.

 

TD Passes

6 - Justin Dion, Desert (Edwards AFB) vs. Rosamond in 67-40 win.  Dion completed 18-of-24 passes for 411 yards.

5 - Evan Bridewell, Piner (Santa Rosa) vs. Rancho Cotate (Rohnert Park) in 55-34 loss. Also threw for 419 yards.

5 - Ben Olson, Thousand Oaks vs. Simi Valley. Also ran for one TD and threw for 248 yards in one half of play as the Lancers won, 56-8.

5 - Cary Dove, Taft (Woodland Hills) vs. El Camino Real. Also had 347 yds in 42-14 victory.

 

Scoring

6 TDs - Zeke Staples, Warren (Downey) vs. Gahr (Cerritos). Also rushed for 255 yards in 40-26 win.

5 TDs - Michael Bolio, North Torrance (Torrance) vs. Centennial (Compton).  Bolio returned a punt 52-yards for a TD, returned a kickoff 60 yards for another score and had three TD catches in 58-0 rout.

5 TDs - Stephen Bradley, Berean Christian (Walnut Creek) vs. St. Lawrence Academy (Santa Clara).  Carried the ball only 18 times and rushed for 335 yards as Berean Christian dominated, 64-0.

5 TDs - Cody Flynn, St. Bernard (Eureka) vs. Hoopa in 60-6 win.  Flynn scored three rushing TDs from 61, 3 and 3 yards. He also scored two TDs on interceptions from 35 and 30 yards.

5 TDs - Stephenson Hubbard, Sherman Indian (Riverside) vs. Ribet Academy (Los Angeles).   The senior runningback also rushed for a season-high 207 yards to help Sherman Indian clinch its third consecutive playoff berth with 48-24 win.

5 TDs - Robert Nembhard, Pasadena vs. Hoover (Glendale). Also rushed for 224 yards on 18 carries. After scoring the first TD of the game for Pasadena, Nembhard kicked the PAT.  Pasadena went on to an easy victory, 42-20.

5 TDs - Glenn Ohaeri, Aquinas (San Bernardino) vs. Malibu. Also had 28 carries for 288 yards in 69-6 triumph.

 

Receptions

16 - Steve Smith, Taft (Woodland Hills) vs. El Camino Real. Also had 193 yards and three TDs in 42-14 romp.

14 - Chris Steck, Hart (Newhall) vs. Canyon (Canyon Country) in 33-0 victory. Steck also had 174 receiving yards and two TDs.

13 - Ramon Perry, San Fernando vs. Kennedy (Granada Hills). Also 165 yards and two TDs in 28-26 loss. Perry also returned an interception 95 yards for a score.

12 - Nick Weiss, Palo Alto vs. Saratoga in 24-24 tie. Also had 108 yards receiving.

11 - Pat Taylor, Piner (Santa Rosa) vs. Rancho Cotate (Rohnert Park) in 55-34 loss.  Taylor also had 202 yards receiving and two TDs.

11 - Nick Garton, Dana Hills (Dana Point) vs. San Clemente. Also had 190 yards and one TD in 48-14 defeat.

10 - Jason DeGallery, Maria Carrillo (Santa Rosa) vs. Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa) in 31-29 loss. DeGallery also totaled 201 yards.

 

Receiving Yards

208 - Andrew Green, Vacaville vs. Bethel (Vallejo). Also scored three TDs on seven receptions in wild 64-53 victory.

202 - Pat Taylor, Piner (Santa Rosa) vs. Rancho Cotate (Rohnert Park). Had 11 catches and two TDs in 55-34 loss. 

201 - Jason DeGallery, Maria Carrillo (Santa Rosa) vs. Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa). Also caught 10 passes in 31-29 loss.

194 - Tyler Fanucchi, Upland vs. Claremont in 42-27 win.  Also had three TDs on only five receptions.

193 - Steve Smith, Taft (Woodland Hills) vs. El Camino Real. Also 16 catches, three that went for TDs in 42-14 win.

190 - Adam Kerns, Newport Harbor (Newport Beach) vs. Woodbridge (Irvine). Had six receptions and one TD in 34-7 win.

190 - Nick Garton, Dana Hills (Dana Pointe) vs. San Clemente. Also had 11 receptions and one TD, but it wasn't enough as Dana Hills fell, 48-14.

189 - Ramal Porter, Birmingham (Van Nuys) vs. Chatsworth. Also caught seven passes and had a TD in come-from-behind 28-23 win.

187 - Adam Kerns, Newport Harbor vs. Woodbridge (Irvine). Caught six passes and scored three TDs. Newport Harbor stays undefeated with 34-7 win.

 

All-Around

Tony Ueblehardt, (Antelope Valley Christian, Landcaster) - The defensive back and wide receiver intercepted three passes, one for a TD. Also had 8 catches for 150 yards and three TDs in 42-6 win over Desert Christian of Landcaster.

Monty McNair (Oak Park, Agoura) - Intercepted two passes, recovered a fumble and caught three passes for 85 yards and a touchdown in the Eagles' 27-13 win over Bishop Diego.

 

Defense

Fernando Castillo (Canoga Park) - Recorded five sacks from his linebacker position in 21-0 win over North Hollywood.

Pedro Castillo, Golden West (Visalia) vs. Redwood (Visalia).  Intercepted three passes in 21-13 win.

Vince Martinez, Overfelt (San Jose) vs. Santa Teresa (San Jose) in 21-0 victory. Martinez had five of the team's six interceptions. His five interceptions are a reported state single game high for the season. On offense he also had five receptions for 119 yards.

J Reese, Brentwood (Los Angeles) vs. Chadwick (Palos Verdes Estates).  Had two interceptions, including one he returned 102 yards for a touchdown, as his team clinched its league title with 43-6 win.

Victor Varela, Serra (Tierrasanta) vs. Hoover (San Diego).  Varela was everywhere, recording six sacks in the game and three in the third quarter as Serra won, 19-9.
