Compton City College won their fourth JUCO state title in school history this past weekend.

The South Region #12 seeded upset the #3 seed from the North Region.

The South Region #8 seeded pulled away from the North Region #2 seeded Marauders to advance to the championship game.

Compton continued their sting of upsets in winning the 2004 California state championship over American River this past weekend.

Compton, seeded #12 in the Southern Region, knocked off #5 Southwestern CC, #4 Pasadena, and #1 LA City CC to advance to the California state Final Four in San Diego, CA.

Compton (17-8), trailing 38-33 at halftime, once again used a second-half rally to come from behind for the hard fought victory. Kevin Lewis, MVP of the tournament, scored 12 of his 18 points during the second half rally.

The Beavers' Joel Henning had a game-high 20 points and 11 rebounds.
