California big man Brett Hoerner stands (6-10), athletic and plays for 32 minutes. HARD! Could this explain why High Major programs are about to track his club basketball schedule for the next four months. The Fullerton (CA) High prospect could be the best 2005 California big man come August!
"I would say USC, UCLA, California, Washington, Arizona State, Oregon, UNLV, New Mexico, Utah and Wyoming are all interested in Brett at this point," said Dinos Trigonis, Hoerner's AAU coach. "He's an athletic, mobile center who is at worst a mid-major and quite possibly a high-major. I don't think any of those schools I mentioned are ready to pull the trigger just yet, but they are definitely interested in him."
Trigonis heads the Belmont Shore Basketball Club in Southern California.
Strength is the biggest question mark, but fixable. At 200 lbs., Hoerner needs to add about 25lbs of solid muscle, but projecting the future, is a risk worth taking for any HM program searching for the elusive big man.
PrepCA.com will bring more updates on the 2005 post from Fullerton as we begin our Event coverage in Las Vegas over Easter!
