320 - Reggie Bush, Helix (La Mesa) vs. Ramona. Junior rose to another level, carrying a mere 17 times and scoring three times in 33-32 victory. Highlanders face Monte Vista of Spring Valley, the only team they've lost to this season, in CIFSD Div. II semis this week.

273 - Junior Vaca, La Mirada vs. Foothill (Santa Ana) on 25 carries. Vaca also scored four rushing TDs and and caught two TD passes in 49-25 semifinal playoff victory.

273 - Jimmy Manley, Mayfair (Lakewood) vs. Kennedy (La Palma). Carried 40 times for the career-high yardage total and three touchdowns as the Monsoons topped Rhema McKnight and Kennedy 35-21 in CIFSS Div. VI quarterfinal action.

266 - Brandon Hickman, Cloverdale vs. Berean Christian (Walnut Creek). Carried 36 times and scored four TDs as Eagles advanced to NCS Class A final with 33-16 triumph.

247 - Robbie Dubois, Mission Viejo vs. Upland. Also scored three TDs on 28 carries to help Diablos defeat the defending CIFSS Div. II champions, 31-10.

245 - Dennis Legaspi, Mary Star (San Pedro) vs. Desert (Edwards AFB). Carried 38 times. Also scored two TDs on runs of 24 and 21 yards. Mary Star won, 21-15.

235 - Chase Twedell, Valley Christian (Cerritos) vs. Bishop Diego (Santa Barbara) in 32-19 win. Carried 21 times and scored two TDs. Also broke the Crusaders' all-time school career rushing record of 3,834 yards set by Mark Garciano in 1996.

228 - Johnny Walker, Antelope Valley (Lancaster) vs. Hart (Newhall). Despite 38-9 loss, the quarterback rushed 28 times and had one score.

227 - Kenny James, Dos Palos vs. Corcoran on 16 carries. Also scored five TDs in 54-13 playoff win.

216 - Mitchell Ruiz, Brawley vs. Lincoln (San Diego). Carried 16 times and scored two TDs as Brawley won, 55-14, and became first team from the Imperial Valley to reach the CIFSD semifinals.

214 - Marcus Lampkin, Twentynine Palms vs. Mojave. Also scored three TDs in 34-29 win and helped the Wildcats advance to their first semifinal playoff game in 26 years.

213 - Joaquin Real, Ventura vs. Thousand Oaks. Carried 40 times and scored three TDs. Also scored the game winning TD with 28 seconds left to play as defending champion Cougars advanced in the CIFSS Div. IV playoffs with 28-21 victory.

213 - Mike Lial, Escalon vs. Marysville. Also scored on runs of 48 and 65 yards as team won, 20-8, in CIF Sac-Joaquin Div. III playoffs.

212 - Andy Buckner, Brawley vs. Lincoln (San Diego). Carried 28 times and piled on to total by teammate Mitchell Ruiz in 55-14 victory.

205 - Stephen Bradley, Berean Christian (Walnut Creek) vs. Cloverdale. State rushing and scoring leader saw season end in 33-16 loss. Carried 24 times and scored two TDs.

202 - Wale Forrester, Venice vs. Manual Arts on 25 carries. Also caught a TD pass to help Venice overcome Manual Arts, 49-35, in CIF L.A. City Invitational Division playoffs.

Passing Yards

352 - Jordan Christensen, Clovis vs. Redwood (Visalia). Completed 30-of-41 passes and threw TDs from 6, 14, 37 and 9 yards in 47-23 victory.

340 - Arthur Giddens, Manual Arts (Los Angeles) vs. Venice in 49-35 loss. Completed 13-of-33 passes and threw for five TDs.

337 - Matt Moore, Hart (Newhall) vs. Antelope Valley (Lancaster). Also completed 20-of-29 passes and threw two TDs in 38-9 playoff victory.

332 - Chris Bolding, Oak Grove (San Jose) vs. Mitty (San Jose). Connected on 19 of 37 passes and had four TD passes but Eagles still lost to Mitty, 35-27, in high-scoring CCS Div. I semifinal.

324 - Kyle Kupicec, Immanuel (Reedley) vs. Fresno Christian (Fresno). Set a school record for passing yardage. Also completed 14-of-19 passes and threw for one TD in 47-14 win.

321 - Colt Brennan, Mater Dei (Santa Ana) vs. Redlands. Brennan had his best game of the season completing 22 of 28 passes, including 14 of first 15, and getting two TDs in 44-28 playoff win.

302 - J.C. Lewis, Las Lomas (Walnut Creek) vs. Campolindo (Moraga). Completed 13 of 25 passes and had two TDs but also had three interceptions in 27-12 playoff loss.

TD Passes

5 - Joel Allen, Christian (El Cajon) vs. Holtville. Also threw for 268 yards on 13 of 20 attempts as Patriots rolled to 69-13 triumph.

5 - Arthur Giddens, Manual Arts vs. Venice. Completed 13-of-33 passes for 340 yards but lost to Venice, 49-35.

5 - Tommy Grady, Edison (Huntington Beach) vs. Bishop Amat (La Puente). Also completed 14-of-18 passes for 230 yards. Edison crushed Bishop Amat, 47-14.


6 TDs - Junior Vaca, La Mirada vs. Foothill (Santa Ana) in 49-25 CIFSS Div. VI semifinal playoff victory. Vaca rushed for four TDs and caught two TD passes. Also rushed for 273 yards on 25 carries.

5 TDs - Adam Cook, Garces (Bakersfield) vs. Orosi. Cook carried the ball only 7 times and scored on runs of 74, 8, 47, 18 and 64 yards. Also finished with 168 yards rushing in 55-34 win. In the game both teams combined for 1,030 total yards.

5 TDs - Kenny James, Dos Palos vs. Corcoran on 16 carries. Scored on runs of 37, 2, 29, 4 and 24 yards. Dos Palos won convincingly, 54-13.


13 - Gerald Green, Oak Grove (San Jose) vs. Mitty (San Jose). Excelled on short flat patterns and piled up 222 yards and two TDs on his catches. Mitty still won, 35-27.

11 - Anthony Ferguson, Terra Linda (San Rafael) vs. Fortuna. Latched on to most of QB's Joe Ayoob's 15 completions for 196 yards and three TDs as Trojans won, 40-24, in NCS Class 2A Redwood Empire playoffs.

9 - Ramon Perry, San Fernando vs. Fairfax (Los Angeles). Tallied 183 yards receiving and caught two TD passes from 15 and 5 yards. Also scored a two-point conversion in 28-21 win.

9 - Steve Smith, Taft (Woodland Hills) vs. Carson. The All-City receiver had 169 yards receiving in 17-14 L.A. City Championship Division quarterfinal playoff victory. Also made the game-saving interception, which was Smith's 12th of the season (a new school record).

9 - Jacob Wild, Immanuel (Reedley) vs. Fresno Christian in 42-14 win. Also had 143 yards receiving. Wild, a junior, is one of the state's top Div. V players in basketball.

Receiving Yards

252 - Emanuel Brackett, Washington (Easton) vs. Coalinga on only 6 receptions. Also scored three TDs from 79, 83 and 60 yards in 40-0 win.

222 - Gerald Green, Oak Grove (San Jose) vs. Mitty (San Jose). Top senior had 13 catches and two TDs. Also rushed for 40 yards and threw a 34-yard option pass. Mitty still won, 35-27.


Victor Adame, Murrieta Valley (Murrieta) vs. Arlington (Riverside). Completed 14-of-17 passes for 225 yards and threw one TD. Also scored on a 54-yard rushing TD as MV won, 28-12, and knocked out the No. 2 seed from the CIFSS Div. V playoffs.

Justin Belcher, Lincoln (Stockton) vs. Vallejo. Caught 6 passes for 98 yards and three TDs and came up with a fumble recovery and an interception on defense as the Trojans won, 21-14, in CIF Sac-Joaquin Div. I playoffs.

A.J. Martinez, Edison (Huntington Beach) vs. Bishop Amat (La Puente). Returned the opening kickoff 88 yards for a TD. Also caught a TD pass from 15 yards out, rushed for a 34-yard score and had one interception in 47-14 win.


Lorenzo Sims, Edison (Fresno) vs. Stockdale. Had three interceptions to help Edison shutout Stockdale, 32-0. Tigers moved up to No. 1 in this week's Div. II state rankings.


Tyler McAlee, Liberty (Bakersfield) vs. Hanford West (Hanford) in 26-7 playoff victory. McAlee booted FGs from 50 and 31 yards.
