State Athletes of the Week

Junior guard Shaun Davis from Lincoln of San Diego and senior forward Tye'sha Fluker from Muir of Pasadena have been chosen State Athletes of the Week by CalHiSports.com.

The 5-10 Davis was named MVP of the San Diego Elite Surgical Tournament last week and resembled a doctor slicing up the competition with recorded 29 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds in a 94-73 title game win over St. Augustine. Davis, an all-state underclass pick from last year and entering his third year as a varsity standout at Lincoln, also had 37 points in a game earlier in the tourney.

They stopped calling Fluker, a 6-4 center, a fluke a long time ago. Fluker, an all-state underclass pick from last season and a recent signee with longtime national power Tennessee, dominated with 50 points in a game last week against Pomona to lead the Mustangs to a 101-30 victory. Fluker also had 39 points last week in a 83-22 rout of Flintridge Prep.
