PrepCA: As a QB, what would you say are your strengths and weaknesses?

Michael: My strengths are that I read defenses well and I have a good awareness for my receivers along with a strong arm.  My weakness is that I need to take off and run a little more.

PrepCA: Next year as a senior how will your role on the team change?

Michael: I will be expected to be a vocal leader and be able to bring my teammates along for the journey that lies ahead of us.

PrepCA: What are you doing to prepare for next season?

Michael: I am constantly eating and lifting to get bigger and better for next season. I am also working extra with private coach Steve Clarkson to improve my field skills.
PrepCA: Will you be attending any camps this summer?  If so where?

Michael: I will be attending the Nike camp at Stanford University on May 21 and will also be attending college camps, where is soon to be decided.
PrepCA: What is your official height and weight?

Michael: I am 6'2" and 180lbs.
PrepCA: What is your best 40, bench, squat and clean?

PrepCA: Who is currently recruiting you? Any early offers?

Michael: Schools from all across the country including UCLA, Washington, Tennessee, Virginia, Arkansas, etc. There have been no early offers at this time.
PrepCA: What can you bring to a D1 program?

Michael: I can bring leadership, the will to work hard, poise, and my knowledge of the game.

PrepCA: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?

Michael: A teammate once told me to "be better each day, better than the last day, but not as good as the next."

PrepCA: Who are some teammates people should watch out for next season?

Michael: People should watch out for Shane Vereen. He is only going to be a junior and he is a returning all-state running back.
PrepCA: Who is the best player you have ever played against?

Michael: The whole Mission Viejo Defensive Line from their 2004 championship team.
PrepCA: What are your goals as far as football is concerned for next year?

Michael: My concern first is always my team. My goal is to help the team as much as I can to win a league championship and find our way back to the CIF championship game.

PrepCA: What is your greatest football memory?

Michael: Being the first team in my team's school history to beat rival Hart High School, winning a league championship, and to be able to have played in Angel's Stadium for the CIF championship.

PrepCA: What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on?

Michael: I have really worked on my arm strength making it as strong as it possibly can be while also being as smart of player as possible.  I would like to continue to keep getting bigger, faster, and stronger.

PrepCA: Name one teammate you really respect and why?

Michael: I really respect all my teammates that finish out the season because whether they are the most talented or not, they still went through all the hard work throughout the year that everyone else had to.

PrepCA: How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?

Michael: Smart, exciting, and competitive

PrepCA: Who is your favorite pro athlete and why?

Michael: Peyton Manning because I love the way he can run an offense as well as he does.

PrepCA: Tell us what can we expect from your team this upcoming season?

Michael: We are hungry for another chance to win a league championship and are going to take it one step at a time.

PrepCA would like to thank Michael, his family and Valencia head coach Larry Muir for helping us set up this interview.
