Boys finals Friday at SDSU's Cox Arena. Girls finals Saturday.


Title games Friday at Loyola Marymount in Div. IV & Div. V (boys). Girls finals in various divisions Friday at The Pyramid, headlined by Lynwood girls (No. 1 in nation) vs. LB Poly (unbeaten). Title games Saturday at The Pond in other boys divisions and at The Pyramid in other girls divisions.

Div. I Boys Championship -- Clovis West 69, Clovis 64. Note: Tyson Parker had 24 and Nick Debban 22 for Clovis West, which rallied from 52-40 deficit in third quarter. CW won its eighth straight section title on the court, although two of the titles were later stripped due to the Charley Rodriguez mess.

Div. II Boys Championship -- Stockdale (Bakersfield) 53, Hoover (Fresno) 50. Note: 6-8 Sam Betty had 19 for Stockdale, now 26-3.

Div. III Boys Championship -- East Bakersfield 67, Washington (Easton) 66. Note: Upset stands as Fred Pineda made two free throws in late going for winning points.

Div. IV Boys Championship -- Garces (Bakersfield) 69, S.J. Memorial (Fresno) 52. Note: Rams' defense held SJM star Antonio Lawrence to just three first-half points, 15 total.

Central Coast

Div. I and Div. V finals Friday. Div. II, Div. III and Div. IV finals Saturday. All games (boys and girls) at Univ. of Santa Clara's Leavey Center.

San Francisco

Boys and girls finals Friday at Kezar Pavilion.


Boys final: Oakland Tech 73, Oakland 58. Note: Tech wraps up probable top seed in NorCal Div. I playoffs. Leon Powe 28 points, Armondo Surratt 23. Oakland strong possiblity for NorCal at-large bid.

Girls: Oakland Tech 67, Oakland 62. Note: Tech must win again on Friday to advance to NorCal playoffs since Oakland won round-robin league title. Alexis Gray-Lawson, yet another top-notch freshman to watch in the state, led Bulldogs with 23 points.

North Coast

Division I boys and girls semis Friday at home sites.

Division II boys and girls semis Friday at home sites.

Division III boys and girls semis Friday at home sites.

Div. IV boys -- Salesian (Richmond) 56, Lower Lake 48; Drake (San Anselmo) 67, Kelseyville 41; Marin Catholic (Kentfield) 61, Dublin 39; Cardinal Newman (Santa Rosa) 61, Justin-Siena (Napa) 47. Note: Salesian is the top seed. Semifinals Friday and finals on Saturday.

Div. IV girls -- Marin Catholic 71, Holy Names (Oakland) 42; Healdsburg 61, Kelseyville 41; Ursuline (Santa Rosa) 51, Justin-Siena (Napa) 36; Kennedy (Richmond) 51, St. Mary's (Berkeley) 39. Note: MC has been No. 1 in state for Div. IV all season. The other three semifinalists have been in state rankings, too, Ursuline as high as No. 3.

Div. II boys -- Rio Americano 55, Vacaville 36; Oak Ridge (El Dorado Hills) 70, Rocklin 56. Note: Rocklin was defending champ. Rio Americano top seed.

All finals to be played on Friday and Saturday at ARCO Arena.
