Hidden Gem: QB Tyler Davis

Colorado Transplant Leads Hayward

A lot can change in a year and QB Tyler Davis can attest to this. A year ago Tyler was living in Colorado and attending Fairview High School but little did he know that his family would move to Hayward, California. As tough as a move can be on a kid, especially during their senior year of high school, Davis' transition on the gridiron has been very smooth. He claimed the starting QB spot for the Hayward Farmers and has been a big part of their 3 and 1 record.

In his first four starts for the Farmers, Davis has posted solid numbers that are drawing the attention of college recruiters.  In the opener, Davis was almost able to lead his team to a comeback but fell a little short as the Farmers lost to Logan 14 to 17. Since then, the Hayward offense has found its stride with Davis at the reigns. They are averaging 55 points per game over the past three contests, all three of which have been wins.

At 6'4 and over 200 pounds, Davis has prototypical QB size and colleges have started make the journey to Hayward. Stanford, Cal, Miami and Ohio State are a few that have been in some type of contact.  Davis is highly interested in the University of Wyoming due to strong family ties to the college.  At this time, Davis has no offers.

Davis reports personal best lifts of 275 in the bench, 355 in the squat, a 28 inch vertical and a 5.0 forty and shows good athleticism by participating in basketball and lacrosse.  Davis would describe himself as, "a player with a good head for the game."

The past few weeks Davis has seen limited playing time in the 2nd half due to his team winning big.  This week the Farmers will play an athletic O'Dowd squad.
