While many athletes were impressive at last Saturday's Nike Camp at USC, the best story of the day likely revolved around Thomas, a football-track standout from Rancho Cucamonga. He ran the third best 40 of the day with a 4.35, left to go to the prestigious Arcadia Track Meet where he took another third, this time in the 400 meters, and came back to the Nike Camp and was one of the top cover DBs in the drills. Terrel wasn't done yet. He went back to Arcadia again and ran the anchor leg for the Cougars in the invitational 4x400 relay. Needless to say, Terrel looked tired coming around the last turn, but he still finished ahead of two other runners. That's dedication!
Girls: Andrea Duran
All-American infielder headed to UCLA collected six hits in a contest against Orosi last week in a 22-1 win. Duran tied her own school record and also tied the Central Section record which she shares with four other girls. Duran also upped her career hit total to 184, which places her just 18 shy of leader Jamie Southern, a former Clovis High pitcher currently attending Fresno State. Andrea also collected three hits in the fifth inning alone in the game against Orosi that established another Central Section record and tied the state mark shared with two others.
