Northern California Report

A Look at Top Prep Football Performers

Here is this week's edition of the Northern California Report.  Some seniors put up big time performances to help guarantee their teams get a postseason shot or a league crown.

*Maybe the biggest performance of the week belongs to NCR regular Bishop O' Dowd RB Louis Arnold.  In a win against Moreau Catholic, Arnold rushed for over 400 hundred yards and five touchdowns.

*Another RB who went big this weekend was Stephen Lee of Irvington.  Lee averaged nearly fourteen yards a carry on the way to over 220 yards as Irvington defeated Kennedy.

*Friday's 165 yard performance by Wayne Jones put the El Diamante RB just under the 2,000 yard mark for the season.

*Kenny Hedrington of Bullard had a big night as his squad defeated down the street rival Hoover 55-36.  Hedrington rushed for 204 yards and three TDs.  In a losing cause, Hoover QB Michael Servantes threw for over 200 yards and rushed for over 100 yards.  He had a total of four TDs for the game.

*Along with Servantes another dual purpose QB who went big this weekend was Brookside Christian QB Larry Perciful.  The senior scored six touchdowns and combined for over 340 yards of total offense as his team rolled to a 52-14 win.

Maybe the most clutch performance of the weekend belonged to Los Gatos QB Danny Sullivan. To secure a piece of the league title, the Wildcats needed a win as they visited Palo Alto.  Win they did, behind the near perfect game by Sullivan.  The 6'5 senior completed all but three of his passes for 300 yards, three touchdowns and no picks as the Wildcats won 63-28.

The El Cerrito junior duo of QB Don Miguel Tutass and WR Chris Moncrease were tough on Berkeley.  The duo hooked up for three long TDs.  Tutass was 10 of 15 for 275 yards in the 34-27 win.
