Player Profile: Charlie Carmichael

Interview with Notre Dame Offensive Lineman

Every year Notre Dame Prep in Sherman Oaks (California) produces very good football teams and great football players.  It is not uncommon to have colleges from across the country fly in to take a look.  This year Notre Dame featured  two very elite prospects in QB Garrett Green and RB Rodney Glass.  Next year should be no different.  Big right tackle Charlie Carmichael has the size and skills that colleges love.  Expect his name to be mentioned in the same breath as Green and Glass next season.  Here's what he had to say.  What is your official height,weight,40, Bench, Squat and Clean?

Charlie: My official size is 6'5 280 pounds. I Squat 450, Bench 250 and Clean 200.  Do you have any early offers yet?

Charlie:  At this moment I do not have any offers. This is my second year playing on varsity, first being a starter and I was not able to attend any of the big combines last year due to an ankle injury (basketball).  Are you planning on attending any camps or combines this summer?

Charlie:  In January I'm attending the US Army All American Combine. I plan to attend the Nike Combines at Stanford and USC. That is all I know of as of now.  As of right now which school would you really be interested in playing for?

Charlie:  There are not any colleges that I'm heavily looking at, my options are wide open. Some schools that I would enjoy playing at would be at Notre Dame, UCLA, USC, ASU, Washington, Ohio State among others....  What do you like most about the game of football?

Charlie:  What I enjoy most about football is the aggression, especially as a lineman since I get to hit someone every play.  What are your strengths as a football player?

Charlie:  My agility is a big part of my game, I move well for my size and am able to get to whichever man I need to block. Another strength of mine as a football player is my aggressiveness and willingness to lay a hat on someone.  What are your weaknesses as a football player?

Charlie:  My overall weakness as a football player is my pad level.  Do you have any idea what you might want to study in college?

Charlie:  In college I would like to study Law. If football does not work out in the future I would like to become a lawyer or a sports agent.  What are the most important factors in choosing a school?

Charlie:  The most important factor for college is the education. I want to go to a well balanced school that offers a good education and also has a good football program.  Who has been the most influential person in your life?

Charlie:  My parents have been the most influential part of my life in that they have made me the person I am today. However, as far as my life as a high school athlete, it's my coaches who have made me the player that I am today and instilled a great work ethic in me. would like to thank Charlie for his time and we wish him the best of luck in the future.  Anyone interested in contacting Charlie email  Coaches and prep football fans can also e-mail if there is a player you feel we should cover.  Thanks for your help
