Devin Ross one of the top cornerbacks in the country recently made his college commitment and his choice was the University of Arizona. PrepCa.com recently had the chance to sit down and talk with Devin about his choice and also the recruiting process.
PrepCa.com: You had scholarship offers from a bunch of different schools. What was it about Arizona that sold you?
Devin: "I really believe in the coaches. They are defensive specialists and I play on the defensive side of the ball, so I thought that was the best decision for me. Also, I recently moved to Phoenix so it's going to be easier for my family to see me play."
PrepCa.com: Tell about your impression of Coach Mike Stoops. What do you think it will be like to play for him?
Devin: "Coach Stoops and I have a good relationship. We talk about on the field stuff as well as off the field problems. It's very exciting to think about playing for him, because he's always so fired up."
PrepCa.com: What do you think you bring to the Arizona program?
Devin: "I think I bring big play abilities and some excitement. I also bring a strong work ethic."
PrepCa.com: To be successful at the next level what part of your game do you need to work on most?
Devin: "I need to continue to lift weights and get bigger. I also need to work on my hands as well."
PrepCa.com: Who is the coach that recruited you? What did you like most about him?
Devin: "Coach Canales the offensive coordinator recruited me. We were able to build a good relationship during the whole process. I consider him a friend."
PrepCa.com: Any plans on what area you might want to study in college?
Devin: "I plan on majoring in Communications"
PrepCa.com would like to thank Devin for his time. We wish him the best of luck at the University of Arizona and in the future.
