Potts Names Top Five

Potts threw for 1,515 yards and 12 touchdowns and ran for 250 yards and six touchdowns. His sophomore season, he threw for 1,757 yards and 13 touchdowns

Monrovia (Ca.) QB David Potts is a gifted athlete who runs the Wildcats' offense like a pro. He showed off his skills as a passer this past Sunday at the Scout All-American Combine at Citrus College in Los Angeles and had this to say about his camp and about how recruiting is going.

"Overall the camp was really good," Potts said. "My times were some personal bests for me and then in the second part, in the one-on-ones, I had some good passes to some wide receivers and the running backs. I ran a 4.7 forty and a 4.5 in the short shuttle and I also had a 32-inch vertical jump."

Potts showed good footwork and a strong arm during positional workouts and was on target with most of his throws.

On the recruiting front, Potts is hearing quite a bit from three Pac 10 schools and has also been contacted by a school in the SEC and a school from the Big 12.

"Washington, Arizona, Oregon State, Colorado and Ole Miss are my top five right now," Potts said. "Oregon State, Washington and Arizona are all recruiting me the hardest so right now, they are the ones I'm leaning toward favoring at this point."

Potts plans to take in the Oregon State individual camp on June 9th and may attend one or two other camps if he can fit it into his busy schedule.
