.

This will be an interesting game because Stockdale returns a pretty good team and Bakersfield graduated some real key players, however they are both 0-1.  The Returning Stars for these two run teams are:

Stockdale returns their # 2 QB (#1 (Tie) scorer, #2 All Purpose Yards, #2 Runner, #2 Passer) 5'10" 200 Kenny Shanahan.  Kenny threw 13 times for 8 completions for a good 61% completions, however he ran 90 times for 900 yards (10 yard average) and 9 tds.  Shanahan also caught 3 balls for 24 yards.  This is a really good ball player and he teams 3 other returners.  #1 rusher (#1 in All purpose yards, #3 Receiver, #1 (Tie) Scorer), 5'11" 180 Edward Webber.  Webber had 168 Carries for 1044 yards (6 yard average) and 7 tds, along with 11 catches for 145 yards (13 yd avg.) 2 tds.   #1 Receiver & #3 Scorer 6'3" 185 pd. Emmanuel Ojeriakhi, who had 32 catches for 625 yards (19 yd. avg) and 5 tds.  #2 Receiver, 5'10" 180 pd RB Tim Armstrong with 14 receptions for 358 yards & 3 tds.

Stockdale has already started 2006 with a 37-28 loss to East Bakersfield.  The players that shined here were New QB 5'11" 180 Brian Anderson 11/21/123yds,2 tds and a pick.  But he also produced 2 tds running on 11 for 40 yds.  This guy is good.  RB, Ed Webber put up 173 yds on 15 carries.  Shanahan had 12 carries for 51 yards.  WR Armstrong caught 4 passes for 60 yards.  So the returners, along with new QB Anderson are showing that they will put up a fight this year.

Bakersfield returns fewer playmakers but these two are good ones.  6'1" QB Tyler Kay returns his 23 completions in 53 throws (49% completions) for 559 yards along with 38 runs for 221 yards (6 yd avg) and 5 tds.  Also returning is 6'1" 180 pd Phillip Thomas, who's 140 carries for 939 yards (7 yd avg.) & 16 tds and his passing 57 times for 28 completions (49%) for 3 tds and 2 ints made him #2 rushers, #2 passer and #1 in All Purpose Yards.  They are joined by #1 Tackler, 6'1" 190 Pd. Austin Ferguson.

Bakersfield also lost its opener 14-7 to Grant of Sacramento.  No Stats were available However both of these team are looking to right their ships with a win this week.
