San Diego Top Prospects 2007

QB - Chris Forcier, 6-3, 175, San Diego (Calif.) St. Augustine

College:

UCLA
Chris Forcier A first-team all-state selection as a junior, Forcier helped lead St. Augustine to the CIF-San Diego Section D-III title, and was named the Player of the Year after going 163-for-272 for 2,382 yards and throwing 31 touchdown passes. His older brother Jason is a freshman at Michigan.

Final Jr. Stats: 182 completions on 311 attempts (59%) - 2634 yards, 32 TDs - 415 YDS Rushing - 4 touchdowns

Jr. Honors: 2005 First-team All-State; First-team All-County; First-team All-League; CIF Championship Game MVP

QB -  Ryan Lindley, 6-4, 205, Lakeside (Calif.) El Capitan

College:

Undecided
Was 150-for-299 for 2,241 yards and 14 touchdowns during his junior season at Lakeside (Calif.) El Capitan. Had a pair of 300+ yard games, including a 343-yard, 3-touchdown performance against Ramona. Also rushed for three touchdowns.
WR - Markques Simas, 6-2, 200, San Diego (Calif) Mira Mesa

College:

Markques Simas As a junior, he had 41 catches for 875 yards and 16 touchdowns. Simas was named first team all-league, CIF and state under-class.

Simas: "I catch everything. I am great at route-running. I mean, I can really stick a route. I am hard to guard because I am usually bigger than the players covering me."

K -  Billy Bennett, 6-2, 190, Encinitas (Calif)  Torrey Pines 

College:

Billy Bennett Possibly the top kicker in the class of 2007, Bennett has already committed to Boston College. Rated by Chris Sailer Kicking as the #1 kicker in the 2007 class.

Kicking coach Chris Sailer's comments:
Billy Bennett is the most talented kicker in country. He has an unbelievable let and really gets the ball up! Member of the "TOP 12" 2007!

DB, RB - Gino Gordon, 5-11, 190, San Diego (Calif.) Francis Parker

College:

Gino Gordon Rushed for 973 yards on 139 carries and scored 12 touchdowns while adding 11 receptions for 251 yards and three touchdowns for San Diego (Calif.) Francis Parker High, helping lead them to the CIF San Diego Division V title. Added 50 tackles, five interceptions and a sack from his secondary position.
DB - Todd Doxey, 6-2, 180, San Diego (Calif.) Hoover

College:

Undecided
Todd Doxey A First Team All-San Diego Section pick as a junior, Doxey was named the Western League Defensive Player of the Year and was an all-state underclass selection. Playing free safety and receiver, Doxey had 97 tackles, five interceptions, five forced fumbles and three defensive touchdowns and was an all-state underclass selection. At receiver, Doxey had 45 catches for 841 yards and nine touchdowns.

LB -  Bobby Erskine, 6-2, 210, San Diego (Calif)  St. Augustine  

College: Undecided
Bobby Erskine Had 95 tackles and 3.5 sacks during the 2005 season, helping lead St. Augustine to the CIF San Diego Section Division II title. Also forced five fumbles and recovered three of them.
DT -  Nick Wood, 6-2.5, 275, Poway (Calif). Poway
College: Undecided
Nick Wood

Was a First Team All-Palomar League selection at defensive tackle for Poway in 2005. Will also play some offense in 2006. Does the shotput and discus and is Poway's heavyweight wrestler. At a 2006 football camp, did 50 reps of 185.

Might be the strongest player in the state of California in the class of 2007. He is a force up the middle and is as tough as you'll find on the interior line. Uses his size to be an effective run-stopper.
