Tatianna Thomas 5-11 Sr. G  Hart High School, is one of the top 2007 prospects in the Country.  Recently we had a chance to talk to her regarding her recruitment, the decision to attend the University of Oregon and her future. Girls Basketball Forum

PrepCA: What were your stats from last season?
Thomas: 10.3pt 3ast  6.5reb 3stl


PrepCA: What is your official height and weight?
Thomas: 5' 11 ' 153

PrepCA: What is your greatest basketball memory?
Thomas: Winning the 2005/2006 CIF-SS Div1A Championship

PrepCA: What are your goals for the upcoming season?
Thomas: For my team to win the Foothill league and repeat as CIF champs

PrepCA: What aspect of your game have you really worked hard to improve? What area would you like to keep improving on?
Thomas: My 3 point shooting

PrepCA: Who are some of your teammates that people need to watch out for?
Thomas: Megan Ford Jr. center, and Amanda Adjari Sr. guard

PrepCA: Name one teammate you really respect and why?
Thomas: I would say Amanda Adjari, because  she carries over a 4.0 GPA, plus Amanda is an unbelievable two sport athlete


PrepCA: What are your goals regarding playing basketball in college?
Thomas: My first goal is to work as hard as I can and become an impact player right away

PrepCA: Would you consider staying in state to play in college?
Thomas: Well, on April 4th I verbally committed to the University of Oregon, and will be signing a letter of intent to play with them on November 8th


PrepCA: What were your top 5 college choices? 
Thomas: My top 5 schools were Oregon, UCLA, Vanderbilt, Nevada, and Washington State

PrepCA: Who is the best player you ever played against? Why?
Thomas: Lenita Sanford from Lynwood HS, She is a very powerful post player with great guard skills

PrepCA: Name one opponent who you really respect and why?
Thomas: Jence Rhoads, she plays for Tri-State Rock Solid. She has a high basketball IQ and plays with great intensity on the court

PrepCA:  What Club Basketball team do you play for in the Spring and Summer?
Thomas: FBC Blue, ( Finest Basketball Club) with great coaches Ray Mayes, Larry Gohlar, and Stan Delus

PrepCA: How do you think your coach would describe you as a player?
Thomas: Hard working

PrepCA: What are your strengths and weaknesses as a player?
Thomas: My strength is my ability to attack the basket, my weakness right now is my 3 point shooting


PrepCA: Who is your favorite athlete and why? 
Thomas: Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat, because he is quick, strong,  a lights out shooter, and plays great defense

PrepCA: What is the best piece of advice you have ever received?
Thomas: "Never measure yourself by what you have accomplished, but by what should have accomplished with your abilities".  John Wooden

PrepCA: Tell us what can we expect from your team this season?
Thomas: Unbelievable full court defense

PrepCA: What position will you play at Oregon?
Thomas: 2 guard, and small forward

PrepCA: What can Oregon expect from you as a player?
Thomas: That I will be the first player to arrive at the gym, and the last player to leave

PrepCA:  What were the main factors choosing Oregon? 
Thomas: The main factor in me choosing Oregon was the schools academic record, coaching staff, and the basketball program's style of play will be covering Girls Basketball extensively throughout the season, so be sure to tell all your teammates, coaches, family and friends.
