They have 234 runs for 1674 yards (7.15 avg.) 20 TD's & 46 completions in 85 attempts (54.1%) for 868 (an excellent 10.2 yards per throw) yards 5 Int's 9 TD's.  Their Defense is giving up 28 point per game (but has 14.5 Sacks and average 1 Int per game), while the offense is scoring a very good 33 points per game.  This is an extremely close margin and puts pressure on this offense to score, but this offense is delivering.

 

By comparison, last year Woodcreek was 5-5 and did not play in the playoffs.  They ran the ball 424 times and threw the ball 101 times.  So they were a run team last year.

 

These two teams played each other last year with Del Oro winning 24-9.  Del Oro had 40 runs for 176 yards & 8 completions in 17 attempts for 128 yards 1 Int 1 TD.  Woodcreek had 37 runs for 117 yards & 10 completions in 19 attempts for 38 yards and 1 Int.

Del Oro has 210 runs for 1156 yards (5.51 avg.) 10 TD's & 39 completions in 65 attempts (60%) for 494 yards (7.6 yards per throw) 5 Int's 3 TD's.  This is a run team that throws for first downs to keep the run going and the clock running.   Their defense has given up an excellent 13.5 points per game (with 12 sacks), allowing the offense to have to score just 2 td's to win.  The offense is scoring 23.8 points per game.    

 

Last year they were 13-0 and won the State Playoffs, playing Christian Brothers (Sacramento, CA) W 37-7, Burbank (Sacramento, CA) W 58-32 and Rocklin (CA)

  • 5'8" 170 Senior RB multi talented two year playmaker, Michael Dutra is the #1 Rusher with 94 carries for 890 yards (9.47 avg.) 11 TD's & is the #2 Receiver with 4 catches for 101 yards (25.25 avg.) 2 TD's.  Michael is a dangerous Kick Returner averaging an excellent 37.67 per Return.  Last year Dutra was the #1 Rusher with 136 carries for 1025 yards (7.54 avg.) 12 TD's & had 5 Int's
  • 5'8" 165 2 year 2 way multi talented playmaker, Senior QB David Weld is the #3 Rusher with 35 carries for 226 yards (6.46 avg.) 2 TD's & 5 catches for 99 yards (19.8 avg).  David also averages 5.3 tackles per game.  Last year David was the #3 Rusher with 96 carries for 361 yards (3.76 avg.) 2 TD's.

My Final Thoughts: 

Woodcreek's defense has allowed some teams to score, however Del Oro does not score a lot of points so maybe this will be a good thing for the Timberwolves.  However Del Oro's offense keeps the ball a long time and the defense does not allow much scoring, therefore Woodcreek will try to get scores early and often to attempt to force Del Oro to throw the ball from behind.
